Hyster/Yale GM 3.0L No Start, No Spark – Forklift Error Codes

Hyster/Yale GM 3.0L No Start, No Spark

There are basic steps to diagnosing a no start condition, it is recommended to follow those steps before proceeding with this procedure.

Only after you have determined the ignition coil is good and wiring in the ignition circuit is good, then you can continue with this test to determine if the problem is in the distributor or the REV module.

COMBINED DELAY TIMER AND REVOLUTIONARY SWITCH FOR THE M4-2.0L, M4-2.2L MAZDA ENGINES AND THE 3.0L GM ENGINE WITH OR WITHOUT MSTS

  • AISAN LP FUEL SYSTEM

MODELS AFFECTED: (D010) S25-40XMS, (E187) S40-65XMS, (E001) H25-40XMS, (H177) H40-65XMS

DESCRIPTION:

Hyster Company previously implemented a product improvement that combines Revolutionary Switch P/N 2039306 and the Delay Timer P/N 1489065 into one unit on the Aisan Fuel System.
The individual Delay Timer was mounted under the Coolant recovery bottle and the Revolutionary Switch was mounted under the air cleaner canister. The new combined Delay Timer and Revolutionary Switch, part number 2047019, is located under the air cleaner canister, it is a black plastic box approximately 4” square.

The following pages and instructions will show how to jump out the Control Switch Assembly for trouble shooting. Using a jumper on Pin 1 to Pin 2 will allow you to ground the Solenoids so they will open. Jumping from Pin 3 to Pin 5 will allow a straight positive signal to the coil without a delay. This is for test purposes only! Do not operate the truck with the jumper wires connected.

Jumping pins 1 & 2 above eliminates the module and sends a ground to the fuel solenoid to allow flow to the regulator. Jumping pins 3 & 5 above sends the signal from the distributor straight to the negative side of the coil and breaks the ground to fire the coil.

If the unit starts with these wires jumped, the Revolutionary module is bad and needs to be replaced. I the unit does not start, there is a part in the distributor bad. The two parts in the distributor are the ignition module and the pick up coil. The ignition module is the easiest part to replace to see if it is bad. The pick up coil can only be replaced if the distributor is removed and disassembled.
